当时我的爷爷家里穷得不得了，

兄弟三个人只能。。

只能穿一条裤子

当时好像是我的奶奶想要说

她要回家，要回到上海去，或者回到她的老家吕四

然后我的爷爷呢，就

她的哥哥在上海的，正在想找她，因为他想他的妹妹当年逃到哪里去了。

然后呢，她的哥哥那个时候其实是

做过一个工作，其实不是好的工作，就是我们中国人说的日本人（侵占）的时候

当时我的奶奶已经生养了，好像是两个孩子了。

后来呢，后来，哦，我的奶奶回到吕四老家的时候，人家就对她说，

然后我的奶奶说，不行呀，我已经有孩子的呀。

于是后来，到了那（走）的时候，带了很多吃的、用的、穿的，

然后，一起从吕四回到了张家港。

后来呢，我还记得有一次，，

我的爷爷讲给我听过，我的奶奶年轻时候长得漂亮，，

不得了的漂亮。

就是说，那个时候她已经，，

已经怀孕了，肚子里有小孩了。

但是隔壁人家呢，不知道还是隔壁哪儿的人，

想要来抢她，抢她回去做妻子。

当时，当时我的奶奶正在农田里，就吓得躲在农田里。

然后我的爷爷也不敢，不敢出声。但后来躲在农田里，就没有让人家给抢走。

Actually, my grandmother

is the daughter of a landlord

When she grew up, she went to Shanghai to work, as a

worker in textile mill.

Then, when the Japanese attacked China,

attacked Shanghai, she fled out

and got on a boat without knowledge of the destination.

After she got on ... got off the boat，

she had no idea of where to go. Then, at that time,

there was a man on the dock who took her back home and planned to marry her.

But my grandma didn’t like him. Instead, she liked another man of his house, who is now my grandpa.

my grandma said

After a long time, my granny settled down there eventually.

Then they married.

After they married, my granny told me,

And my granny had already given birth to two children that time.

She said she was already married there and had children.

my grandpa and grandma along with their children went back to her hometown Lvsi.

He said when my grandma’s brother came with his men to find my grandma.

He wanted to see what kind of person his sister had been married to.

My grandpa heard about that and ....

...he thought himself a quite good looking lad.

...pretty confident.

And then...well...when my grandma returned to Lvsi, her hometown. Others told her..

..not to leave.“What’s the point of leaving? Your husband’s family is so poor.”

And my grandma said,”I have to. I’ve already had my children.”

So they left later and took a lot of things with them.

And they returned to Zhangjiagang from Lvsi.

I remember another time..

...when my grandpa told me that my grandma was very beautiful when she was young.

...incredibly beautiful..

At that time...

she was pregnant and had a baby in her belly.

But one of her neighbors or someone else...

wanted to take her as his wife by force.

My grandma was so frightened that she hid herself in the fields.

And my grandpa didn’t dare to make a sound. My grandma hid herself well and was not taken away.

Well...after that ...

...my grandpa and grandma...my grandpa passed away...

...at the age of 82. They lived together for about 60 years.

Though my mother always says that my grandma has many faults such as laziness and so on.

However, I feel that my grandpa treated my grandma pretty well.

They had been husband and wife for 60 years, and I believe, they lived a happy life.
