Teochew is our common language of everyday life.
We speak Teochew no matter where we are.
Even at school we spoke partly Teochew and partly another language,
but we usually use Teochew.
My brothers at home also had a lot
Every day of our life,
we went to school, returned back home
Our parents went to work to help the family business.
We left the village while in our teens
and went to live in America.
But in America there is rarely anywhere where one can speak Teochew.
Maybe there are places elsewhere, but not here.
Therefore I do not wish that
future generations do not remember how to speak Teochew
Let our ancestors\' Teochew be passed on.
